We were so excited to collaborate with the Lubbock Christian High School Senior English class on a truly special intergenerational project!
After reading Theo of Golden, the students focused on one of the book’s biggest themes: making meaningful connections with others. Our residents had the opportunity to sit down with the students for personal interviews, sharing stories, experiences, memories, and a little piece of their lives. A couple of weeks later, the students returned to Carillon to share what they had written based on those conversations.
Projects like this remind us just how valuable intergenerational connections are. There is so much wisdom to share, so much to learn, and so many stories waiting to be heard. We are grateful to the students and teachers at Lubbock Christian High School for helping create an experience that was meaningful for everyone involved!
Here’s to bridging generations, sharing stories, and reminding each other that every life has a story worth telling.
